My all time favourite life coach, author and general wise woman. She’s written prolifically on finding your calling in life, finding freedom from the socialised self, finding physical healing and finding a spirituality (or having it find her). She writes a monthly column for O, The Oprah Magazine and teaches regular classes online, most recently on writing transformational books. She also has her own life coach training program. Danielle La Porte
One of the most inspirational business leaders for online entrepreneurs, she leads the pack with her honest and sassy spiritual seeking and business rocking. But her opus has been her work on The Desire Map program, a system for wading through all the things we think we want, and uncovering the core motivations for wanting anything – feelings. Byron Katie’s method of questioning thoughts – which she calls “The Work” – is the single tool that will take you from stress to peace in the quickest amount of time. It’s simple and brilliant (though not always easy) and will take you to the edge of your ego’s ability to let go of itself, if you let it. While her application of this process of questioning what we believe to be true will sometimes feel remarkably challenging, I can attest to the fact that if you keep with it and allow the truth to seep through your beliefs and purify them, you will find a freedom you never thought possible. Dan Howard – Intentional Resting
Dan Howard’s Intentional Resting meditation system was the first meditation I used regularly and I still use it today, some 8 years later. His unique approach to meditation as rest has become foundational for the work I do and the way I meditate. He has developed a range of resting based meditation programs which are available on his website, intentionalresting.com. I highly recommend his 25 minute Deep Rest meditation, available for purchase and instant download from his website.
Lissa is an OBGYN who moved away from traditional medicine after realising not only was it not actually healing anyone, it was making her sick as well. Taking the courageous path away from the safety and income of her medical career, Lissa followed the call of her soul, through some hard times, but came out of it an inspired, beautiful writer with a heart to heal health care. Her books, such as The Fear Cure and Anatomy of a Calling, have inspired me to work more deeply with those suffering chronic illness and pain.
